- Coal reserves in abundance are already available in this region and immediate steps should be taken for mining the same to cover the shortfall. To start with, a capacity to mine 50 million tonnes tonnes per annum can be created in this region. Availability of additional 50 million tonnes of coal per annum can easily lead to power generating capacity of over 10,000 MW
- As fallout of the investment in the Core Sector mentioned above there would arise a tremendous opportunity for Engineering Industries to set up manufacturing facilities in Vidarbha. Presently there are 12,000 Engineering Industries with an investment of over 200 Million US Dollars already existing in Vidarbha.

Nandgaonpeth Industrial Area
- It is spread over 2800 Hectares.
- 50% land of this area has been acquired.
- MIDC has already taken possession of 1700 Hectares.
- Infrastructure development such as Roads, Water supply etc. is in progress.
- MIDC has taken up Strategic Development on war footing with the object of making it a Chemical Zone of International Standard
- All amenities required by industries and especially Chemical industries will be provided by the M.I.D.C.
- MIDC would ensure that the effluents of the chemical plants are properly treated and safely disposed off.
- It has also been planned to carry out large scale afforestation in the zone in order to maintain healthy environment in and around the chemical zone.
